FOUNDER:
Nicia was born and raised in Guinea-Bissau, West Africa and went to secondary school in Portugal. Later she moved to the UK where she studied her first degree in Business management and master’s degree in public health international at the University of Leeds in England/UK.
Nicia comes from a fashion-forward family. She grew up in a home filled with fabrics of varied hues and colours, all designed by her mother, aunts and grandmother. Expressing a fashion-gene of her own from a very early age, Nicia attended Saturday School to learn basic sewing and crochet. To further develop her skills, she made kitchen accessories and crochet for her family home. It was then that her journey towards becoming a talented, creative fashion designer began.
MADE INSIDE was launched in December 2018 to roaring success. Armed with a lifelong expertise of sewing and crocheting and with a passion for fashion, Nicia introduced her flamboyant line of kaleidoscopic African print clothing to the world.
Her line of African print clothing makes the perfect amalgamation of the East and the West. The right mixture of African prints with Western designs make the MADE INSIDE line of lady’s print clothing perfect for both work and play.
